Problem

Mercury Insurance was entering the national market for the first time, facing low brand awareness and a highly competitive category dominated by big-budget players.

With limited media spend, the challenge was to break through quickly—capturing attention, building recall, and driving action without the scale of traditional insurance advertising.

Solution

Led creative direction to develop a bold, culturally resonant campaign designed for maximum impact with minimal spend.

Concepted the “Mercury Mission” campaign—leveraging spy and secret agent tropes to create a distinctive, memorable brand world rooted in humor and pop culture
Creative execution across campaign touchpoints, ensuring a cohesive tone and visual identity that stood out in a crowded market
Extended the campaign into digital and social, art directing photography and content optimized for engagement

Outcomes

  • A successful campaign that drove both awareness and measurable business results.

  • Increased insurance quote completion by 43% in existing markets

  • Boosted brand awareness in new markets despite limited media spend

  • Generated hundreds of thousands of social impressions, marking a significant expansion into digital engagement

  • Established a distinctive brand voice that differentiated Mercury in a crowded category
